Changes on the way

You may have noticed some changes around the Adventure Bent website lately. The blog is currently undergoing some renovations. Let’s call it spring cleaning if you will. Out with the old and in with the new.

Along the way, you may experience some glitches and bugs. Sometimes changes can take some tweaking to get right.

If you see something that isn’t right, we want to know about it. If you can, grab a screenshot of the problem and send it our way. We’ll do our best to correct any big issues quickly so you can get back to enjoying our content.

Some of the changes we’ve already begun implementing include updated logos, a new home page layout, and a new footer image.

Many of these changes, like the logo and other imagery, will begin trickling down into our social media platforms in the near future.

We are also looking into improving the layout of blog posts and tweaking our typography, photo galleries, and embedded media.

Some other changes

It’s not just the website we’ll be making changes to either. We’re looking into what kinds of content you guys enjoy most.

For example, since we launched the blog last June, Project Wrangler has been a hugely successful series.

Because of this, we are considering adding a page dedicated to “The Rig” so anyone interested can get detailed information on our vehicle and the modifications we’ve made to it.

We want to hear from you!

We want to know what you want to see.

  • Do you want to see a “The rig” page added?
  • More hiking and travel posts (We could add shorter local trips too.)
  • More reviews? (We don’t buy much gear, but we could review what we’ve got)
  • You name it!

If you’ve got suggestions for how we can make the Adventure Bent even better, we’d love to hear from you. Leave us a comment below or if you’ve got more detailed ideas that don’t work well in the comments drop us an email!

Thanks! That won’t be changing anytime soon!

  2. I think breaking it down into categories is a great way to allow people to view what interests them, I for one, like the entire site, so, I read your posts completely, but, to be able to know where they are quickly if I want to go back and reference one, would be nice.
The new logo is nice, I really like it
Reviews are nice, especially if you use a product a lot and feel others would like it too. I really think that they are secondary, most people seem to come here to see what you did, not what you used.
I have to admit, I like your hiking and camping posts, I would love to read more of those.

Thanks For the feedback! I’ll have to put some thought into how I would work subcategories into my menu/sitemap I could really see it being helpful.

As for reviews, I think I’d have a hard time writing reviews for items that I don’t actually use. I prefer not to “Shill” products. I don’t do a lot of reviews, because, as you have correctly pointed out they don’t get many reads.

The good news is more hiking and camping posts are coming soon. We are aiming for at least two trips per month through the end of fall.
